1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
We may collect the following categories of PII:
- Identifiers: Name, email address, physical address, phone number, etc.
- Merchant Information: Data related to the merchant websites you wish to validate, including company website URLs together with any feedback on the results we return.
- Payment Information: Details necessary to process payments, stored by our payment processor.
- Technical Data: IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, etc.
- Usage Information: Information about how you interact with our Services.
2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
We use personal information to: provide services and information that you request; enhance, improve, operate, and maintain the Site, Service, our programs, and other systems; prevent fraudulent use of our Site and Service; tailor your user experience; maintain a record of our dealings with you; conduct research and analytics to understand our customers; develop new products; market our Service; ensure internal quality control; communicate about customer accounts and activities; comply with regulatory and legal requirements; prevent, investigate or provide notice of fraud or unlawful or criminal activity; enforce and carry out contracts and agreements between us and you; protect the safety of any person; address fraud, security or technical issues; protect our rights or property; and for other administrative and internal business purposes.
We may also use aggregate information, deidentified information, or other non-personally identifiable information that does not personally identify you in order to understand better how our visitors use the Services, research our visitors’ demographics, interests, and behavior, improve the Services, provide visitors with customized services and information, and for other similar purposes. We may share this information with others for informational or promotional purposes and may use such information in any manner permitted by law.
3. WHO WILL YOUR INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH?
We will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent, other than as described in this policy. We may disclose personal information to vendors and service providers: (i) in connection with the provisioning of IT and related services or as otherwise required to assist us in our work; (ii) to provision information and Services you have requested; (iii) in connection with customer service activities; (iv) for fraud prevention purposes; (v) for analytics services; and/or (vi) in connection with providing the Services. We limit the personal information provided to these service providers to that which is reasonably necessary for them to perform their functions.
We may share personal information about you if we reasonably believe that disclosing the information is needed to: (i) comply with any valid legal process, governmental request, or applicable law, rule, or regulation; (ii) investigate, remedy, or enforce potential violations of any agreement you or a third party may have with us; (iii) protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our customers, or others; or (iv) detect and resolve any fraud or security concerns. We may also disclose personal information if otherwise permitted by applicable law.
In addition, information about our users, including personal information, may be disclosed as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of company assets, or similar transaction, as well as in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which personal information could be transferred to third parties as one of our business assets.
4. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We will usually store the personal information we collect about you for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, and in accordance with our legitimate business interests and applicable law. However, if necessary, we may retain personal data for longer periods of time, until set retention periods and deadlines expire, for instance where we are required to do so in accordance with legal, tax, and accounting requirements set by a legislature, regulator, or other government authority.
To determine the appropriate duration of the retention of personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of personal data and if we can attain our objectives by other means, as well as our legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and other applicable obligations.
Once retention of the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes outlined above, we will either delete or deidentify the personal data or, if this is not possible (for example, because personal data has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store the personal data and isolate it from further processing until deletion or deidentification is possible.
5. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
TrueBiz strives to ensure that our systems are secure and that they meet industry standards. We seek to protect PII that is provided to TrueBiz by third parties and by you by implementing physical and electronic safeguards. TrueBiz endeavors to engage third-party service providers that have security and confidentiality policies, if such third-party service providers have access to our PII. Despite our efforts to protect the security of your information, no security system is always effective and we cannot guarantee that our systems will be completely secure.
6. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed to use the Sites and we do not knowingly collect PII from persons under 18 years of age. By using the Sites, you represent that you are at least 18. If we learn that we have collected PII about a person under the age of 18 years of age, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. We do not and will not knowingly sell PII of consumers under the age of 16.
When you interact with the Site or the Services, we and our service providers (including advertising partners) may use industry standard identifiers, such as cookies, to collect information about your activities on our Site and your website usage behavior in order to improve our Services and/or to provide you with more personalized information and services, including targeted offers.
A cookie is a small data file that is placed on the hard drive of your computer when you visit a website. These cookies may contain information (such as a unique user ID) that is used to track your usage of our Site and your other website usage behavior. A number of cookies we use last only for the duration of your web or Services session and expire when you close your browser or exit the Services. Other cookies are used to remember you when you return to the Site or Services and will last for longer. We refer to cookies and similar technologies as "Identifiers."
We use Identifiers to:
- Remember that you have visited us before; this means we can identify the number of unique visitors we receive;
- Optimize your user experience by customizing the Site and/or Services for you;
- For advertising and marketing purposes (such as retargeting ads – see below for additional details);
- Collect anonymous statistical information about how you use the Site and/or Services (including how long you spend on the Site or Services) and where you have come to the Site or Services from, so that we can improve the Site and Services; and
- Gather information to inform our sales and marketing decisions.
Do Not Track: Your browser setting may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to websites and online services you visit. Like many websites and online services, TrueBiz does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals or other similar mechanisms from a visitor’s browser.
